cf stinson Launches The Jazz Collection at NeoCon 2010
June 01, 2010New Collection Featuring Victor Group’s Eco-Intelligent® PC Recycled Polyester with Agion® Saint-Georges, Quebec, Canada, June 01, 2010 – Victor Group, a leading North America-based textile company, announced today that the company is partnering with cf stinson, a leading supplier of contract fabrics to launch the Jazz Collection, a new fabric collection that features the Victor Group’s Eco Intelligent® PC Recycled Polyester with Agion. The fabrics in the Jazz collection – inclusive of the antimicrobial, dyes and chemicals – are certified Cradle-to-Cradle® Silver by MBDC. Cradle to Cradle certification is a multi-attribute eco-label that assesses a product’s safety to humans, the environment and design for future life cycles. The Jazz collection, created by renowned designer Jane Wicks, represents the next evolution in cf stinson’s award winning offerings of products featuring Agion. Last year, the company introduced the Now & Zen Woven Agion Fabric Collection which earned the company a “Best of NeoCon” Gold Award for Healthcare Fabrics. cf stinson also won a “Best of NeoCon” Gold award in 2007 for the introduction of a PVC-free upholstery with Agion. cf stinson is the only company currently offering woven upholstery featuring Agion bi-component (silver/copper) antimicrobial technology extruded into the fabric. These fabrics combine environmentally friendly attributes with exceptional durability, clean-ability and a built-in ability to naturally and continuously resist bacteria and other microorganisms. Agion is embedded into the Post-Consumer Recycled polyester fiber within micron-sized zeolite carriers. The silver and copper ions are activated in the presence of ambient moisture such as the touch of a hand, urine, blood, etc. With Agion bi-component technology built in, this new collection provides long lasting antimicrobial protection that cannot wash or wear off over time. The Jazz Collection offers abrasion results up to 100,000 double-rubs and excellent brush pill results. Engineered with superior lightfastness properties, the Jazz Collection offers fade resistance that is five times the industry standard for commercial fabrics. This feature is particularly appealing for applications in healthcare settings which are working to incorporate more natural light into the healing environment. Clean-ability is another important consideration in health care settings. The Jazz Collection can be cleaned using a simple solution of household bleach (20% diluted solution, 1 part bleach to 4 parts water). “The Jazz Collection offers customers the best of both worlds by combining highly-technical, Eco Intelligent® material from the industry’s premier developer of sustainable fabrics with stunning aesthetics from one of the industry’s leading designers,” said John Rowan, Director of Product Development for cf stinson. “The Jazz Collection is the latest result of our commitment to creating relevant products that successfully combine beauty, innovation, performance, and a reduced environmental impact.” All of Victor’s Eco Intelligent® products, including the fabrics incorporated into the new Jazz Collection from cf stinson, meet criteria aligned with international sustainable certification on material health and safety, water, energy, recyclability and social responsibility.
